I Love Clinique, But Did Clinique Skincare Clear My Skin?

lthough I have well and truly passed my teenage years, I still have been on bumpy ride now and thenwhen it comes to my acne. It really and truly hasn’t really left my face and it seems (to me anyway), that it has taken permanent residence on my skin. Today’s blog post is a review of Clinique’s Acne Solutions / Anti-Blemish Solutions which comes in a 3 Step Skincare system. And we all know how much I love Clinique, as there is one Clinique product I have been using for years, but did Clinique help me clear up my acne? I did use it when I was younger, but read below if it’s something I’d use again.

Especially this winter. I feel my skin has really suffered. Generally, every winter that rolls around, my skin battles to find it’s balance. I think it may be the fact that I am low on Vitamin D, not seeing sun and my skin tends to change during the colder months of the year.

However, the worst thing that happens to me which honestly friggin frustrates me is that whenever there is a party, wedding or special event coming up, I get attacked with pimples, that tend to sprout on the weirdest and most obvious places of my face like my chin, my hairline and right in the center of my cheek so everyone can see, can you believe that? How can you image to look pretty, if you have a big pimple on your cheek?

Putting my moaning aside, my friend was the first person who suggested that maybe I should try some new skincare products. Her recommendation was the Clinique 3 Steps Clear Skin System (It’s either called the Clinique Acne Solutions System or the Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions). And because I had used it in my younger days, I thought yes – this will fix it!

And yes, I tried it when I was younger but haven’t used it for years as I didn’t really have a need for it since my teenage years. My friend wasn’t prone to many blemishes but she was a regular user of this 3 step system and commended the products as being very effective and quick in recovering pimples and spots.

Disappearing Doubts

Often with acne-based products, the first thing that comes to your mind is the ensuing skin dryness, irritation and chemicals added in the products, but you don’t have to worry about these things the quality that Clinique skin products are made with.

One thing that is generally on my mind when it comes to anti-acne products is that I am worried they will strip my skin of my  natural oils that are there to protect my skin. I guess you get what you pay for when it comes to Clinique. They are spot-on with their products, using this ‘3 step system’ for about 2 months now and I haven’t felt like it’s stripped clean of my natural skin oils and my skin never felt dry at all. And during the winter months, that’s pretty  amazing! I have dry to normal skin and it feels gentle, yet very healing for my pimples. I really adore the mint-inspired packaging as it feels calming and soothing, plus the tight packaging ensures a travel-friendly voyage. Maybe I am just attracted to mint packaging, as I last year I tried a natural skincare brand you can read here which is mint packaging also! LOL

What I Got

‘The Kit’ contains three products, a cleanser, a clarifying lotion and a moisturizer. I personally use these three products at nighttime because I feel that nighttime skincare must be intense and powerfully skin curing – that’s how I have found the best results.

How I Got Optimal Results

First, I take a little amount of the cleanser and massage it generously and thoroughly on my face, ensuring that no area is left un-massaged. Once my skin is completely covered with the foam (which lathers very nicely) I rinse the cleanser away and pat my skin dry with a towel. My skin feels deeply cleansed.

As soon as my skin is purified, I feel that is the right time to put on the clarifying lotion to counteract the size of my pores and attack the pimples right away. So, I continue to dab the lotion on my pimples and on my pores with cotton wads, and then gradually spread it on the rest of my face. I only apply one layer because I don’t like heavily moisturized skin when I am heading to bed.

At last, I take a dollop of the moisturizer and massage it profoundly into my skin, taking my time. The moisturizer is very lightweight and doesn’t feel heavy or greasy at all. It has a cushiony texture and instills into my skin in a whoosh-like manner.

The Whole Shebang

Optimistically, the major ingredients contained in these products are Benzoyl Peroxide and Salicylic Acid and IF you want to have clear skin, these are vital to include in your skincare regime.

At the start, I was totally sold merely only one week. My pimples, after the first week, started to blur and diminish, and the pesky little redness I experienced, soon bade me goodbye as well.

There is only one remorse I am left with, and that is why I didn’t buy this system sooner. It is worth every penny and is truly excellent for recovering and improving the skin from acne, pimples or scarring.

I’ve heard a lot about the 3 step system and I know a lot of people that use it too. I might give it a go. I generally like clinique’s makeup but never tried their skincare. Thanks for giving me the confidence to give it a try.

Same, it’s a little pricey but it seems like it’s worth it. Although anything that really does work on acne and blemishes tends to cost a lot. Everything I buy doesn’t seem to work so I am thinking this is worth the investment.
